Hi, I'm buying a new bike for the first time so I really don't that much. I was thinking of a mountain bike so I can use it for a short commute (~3 mi each way) to and from work and occasionally on weekends on some trails. I was hoping to spend around $300 - $400.
Any suggestions on bikes? I've been looking at the following:
GT Aggressor - $300
GT Outpost - $350
Specialized Hardrock - $380
Raleigh Talus 3.0 - $300
Specialized Hard Rock.
Ride them. Pick the one that fits, feels, and rides the best.

Hey, your price range seems a bit low for a mountain bike ... but Schwinn has some good models in that range. I particularly found the Schwinn Mesa Sport quite a good pick!!
