Hi fellas, I'm going to come clean and admit I am not a biker. I am an out and out fell runner who has unfortunately developed achilles problems which curtails my hill work somewhat. To me, the next best thing for keeping me fit would be a mountain bike. I would require a bike simply to climb,particularly on grass, I,m, at the moment anyway, not interested in racing,you're all b----y mad. So what bike type should I be looking to purchase, and where, if available, would I go for a good secondhand selection.(UK)
I would sugest maby looking at a cyclecross as they are much lighter than a mountain bike. however no suspension. depends on overgrown grass or ruff grass. definate XC bike low speeds you can do without the weight of suspension, however you might want a squish fork for the ride back down. juts stay light for what you are asking
Oh- that Bianchi Axel is a dreamboat- I can't afford it (not that it is overpriced...it's par), so I think I'll steal one from the shop, the guy there is a jerk anyway.
All the right components and super light- trick paint to catch the eye of the ladies...gotta love it...certainly seems like it would make mountains of molehills without spinning on the grass
My suggestion wouldn 't be that good to most of you, but I find it most comfortable to ride on grass with a full suspension bike. Don't know if it works for you, but it works for me.
