Following on from the existing thread (which favours the lucky ones with newer bikes :-), can anyone
offer opinions on the best 27" tyres currently available?
I am using Schwalbe marathons on my old ten-speed road bike, but wonder if it is worth buying
something else in the quest for more speed. Among the limited options the Conti Ultra
Gatorskins seem to be the most "speed" oriented 27" tyres around, and about half the weight of
my Schwalbes too!
So, the questions are: Has anyone used them? Are some tyres really faster than others (bearing in
mind the old steel frame and basic wheels that will be rolling above them)?
TIA for all responses.
