Where to start???

One of my kids has been dreaming about "an old bike, you know, no gears, pedal backwards to stop, etc. etc. so I can paint i purple" Having locked away this info somewhere in the back of the brain, I happened to walk past a house today with a bike for sale - $20, no gears, pedal backwards to stop, etc... it's not purple... yet! The tyres need replacing, it needs some work I'm guessing on the BB, and needs a lot of TLC. It has 'Hallmark" decals on it, but after a bit of a google, not the old-style-looking Hallmark decals. http://member.melbpc.org.au/~adrian/page1.html I have no idea what it might be! Oh, it coasts, no need to pedal constantly. Anyway, she loves it, any suggestions regarding how to lovingly get it into prime shape welcome! It has the *best* bell! cheers, Ali

Noice! Sorry, just back from Goatage (in rain!) so the braincells aren't quite fired up. Um, not purple yet? Try either the cheap method (spraycan) or deluxe (Bell powercoating)
