Holly Marie Patterson of Livermore, California died at the age of 18. Her
premature death came as a result of her visit to a Planned Parenthood clinic
where she was given the drug RU-486 to abort her child. She died due to an
infection resulting from her use of RU-486.

In answer to the moronic question posed by your subject line, Spammin'
Dave, the stuff has been tested. And RU-486 has been used a lot of
times. The anti-abortion groups hate it and have been waiting for a
case they could pounce on. This one may be it.

But the drug is safer than surgical abortion or, for that matter,
giving birth. The sketchy accounts I saw of the Patterson case made
it sound to me as though the ER she went to bungled the case and she
need not have died.
