Hi everyone! Out of curiosity, when do you know it's time to upgrade your bike? As a recreational rider, my riding is more for "cardio" and are no where near as long as most of the riders here. So my Trek 1000 should theorically last me forever. Unfortunately...like everything else I have....I'm itching to upgrade to something mo' betta'. I know I probably don't need it...but more than anything I'd like to know what the y'all see as "a sign" to upgrade your bike(s).

Many thanks!
When the frame shows signs of structural failure or damage that could affect your safety.... or when you just can't find parts anymore.
