  1. ....going to realise that the legal system is not here for cyclists?

How many victim threads have been posted here in the last 6 months where
cyclists have been hit, dissed and wrongly treated by motorists (bus, truck?
    or car users)?

My wife was run over in March by a not give way driver on a clear roadway,
she was injured as a result of the impact, her bike totalled beneath the
car, off to hospital by ambulance as an emergency for some depressed
fractures, dental damage and musculo skeletal problems and is still unwell
almost 5 months later. Today the driver went before the NSW legal service
(court) and basically was told not to do it again and you may go free and
enjoy the autumn of your lifa as you like.

There seems to be impunity and rewards for stupidity.
I am [censored] with the system.

Better to be [censored] than to be [censored] on!

  3. Hope your wife is on the up and up

I know how you feel (though my case was no-where near that bad)

I was hit about a month ago.

Reported to the police (attended 3 times)

They wont investigate, no phone calls, letters nothing.

    Went in again, case closed.

So, I guess next time I feel agro, I should just go hit a cyclist - police say that is ok

Let's rephrase that, Jock: the legal system is not here for victims - ANY
    victims.

Sorry, I have a bee in the bonnet about this issue.

    Henry.
