Has anyone tried those little Tirefly tyre valve LED lights? I notice you can get white ones from Donutz and Direct Car Parts. I have an LED keyring torch that uses three little button cells and it doesn't have a very long battery life, so I was was wondering what peoples experiences were - useful safety accessory or pointless gimick?
Also, can you get pedals with little orange LED lights incorporated into them? I know you can buy them in the US, and they even generate their own electricity so they don't need a battery, but it appears the LEDs are red, so not much use. It would probably be illegal and anyway, I like to give the cagers the colour of light they're expecting (don't like to make them think too hard). In my view, the real value of pedal/wheel reflectors is that they immediately identify you as a bike, rather than just another point of light among many brighter ones, but when viewed out the side window of a car (waiting to come out of a junction) they're invisible.

My father has a set of these on his Trek Navigator, wot he got from FW Evans in Woking, but I don't know whether they're available separately.
