If I have type II diabetes don't I produce all of the insulin I need and my body doesn't process
it? What good would insulin injects do for a type II diabetic?
Thanks Jim
No, you don't produce all of the insulin you need.
The average Type 2 diabetic has had about 50% of his insulin cells destroyed when first diagnosed.
Unless he can reduce his Insulin Resistance, he will continue to have more insulin cells destroyed.
That's one of the main differences between a Type 2 diabetic and the rest of the world, he's lost so
many insulin cells that he can't make enough to control his blood sugar.
The other difference between a Type 2 diabetic and the rest of the world is that he is Insulin
Resistant and therefore needs more insulin than normal folks. Thus, he needs more than normal but he
can't make as much.
If they can reduce their Insulin Resistance by exercise, losing weight and metformin or Actos or
Avandia, many can get by with their reduced levels of insulin. . . and many can't get by and need
insulin injections.
Whole wheat bread is better than plain white bread but it's not that good for diabetics. You can
only eat a small amount. How small depends on how many of your insulin cells have been destroyed,
and how well you have succeeded in reducing your Insulin Resistance.
