  1. What should I put under a bicycle work stand? Initially I plan to work outside on my deck. In winter, move downstairs into the basement. The thought of staining either the deck or the concrete floor with chemicals or lubes gives me goose pimples of disgust. Any suggestions?

Do the simple thing, perhaps, and just put a layer of cardboard on the deck and the stand on top of that?

    Thanks

    Bob

  2. A linoleum/vinyl flooring remnant for a cheap, hard surface or one of 4' x 6' commercial style entrance rugs Menards puts on sale every other month. Those 4' x 6' carpets can do double duty under your trainer in the winter and dropped parts don't roll away if you use the carpet.

  3. Thanks a ton, CampyBob!

  4. I keep my work bench and stand in the garage, so I'm not worried about ruining the surface of the garage. Still, I put down some carpeting under the area with a plastic layer below that. It's just a little peace of mind that I'm not going to move that carpet and plastic one day to find part of my garage surface is stained to hell. 😄
