Maybe he's tired? He tried to peak for the Tour, which just finished a
month ago. I'd say that the odds of him winning are slim. Top 10 is
probable and maybe a stage win.

He has been working hard for quite some time (lots of ProTour stage
races). He was already overcooked when the Tour stage 1 ITT got started
IMO.
