I've recently overcome a knee problem and want to start training and because I live in Portugal and the weather is picking up (already have a trainer with power) I was thinking of buying a power meter but I mainly do mountain biking and wanted your input of what is the best power meter for mtb.
The powertap hub would be my first choice but can it sustain the effort needed to ride in rough terrain.

A pro MTBer i coach used the Power Tap for training and some racing and has been fine. The only issue is the lack of disc brakes, which means they ride their important races without the PT.
The SRM montain bike version is pretty good, although for some reason they make it for a certain BB shell size (68mm) which rules out a lot of full suspension bikes (unless you get crazy with spacers). They also want you to use an Ultegra BB with it, which makes little sense to me...
