Doesn't look like Basso can ride away from him either...or if he can
he's the most passive racer I've ever seen.

Basso is very talented. Great rider as well as smart. Today he rode in
the shadow of US Postal until they were all spent. he then went on with
Lance. Looked to me like he did considerably less work until they were one
on one. The next individual TT will be interesting and demonstrate who
should win this Tour. I believe Lance will prevail so long as there is no
serious mechanicals or accidents. Today's stage was a move to bring in the
yellow as well as put other GC in trouble. Two working together were
better equipped than one and produced the desired result.

This race is not finished. We could have some surprises.

It was reported here the last 10km of La Mongie were 10 seconds faster
in 2004 than 2002.

The great thing about this Tour is a legitimate opponent for Armstrong
finally emerged, rather than Armstrong losing ground to an existing
level of competition, relative to 2002.

There's still a lot of racing left.
