What is Campy "Compact Road"?

Campy Compact Road? Closest I can think of is was the
Victory/Triomphe/Gran Sport setups from the 80's. The bolt
circle on these cranks was 116mm, allowing as small as a 35
tooth ring. I have constructed several of these cranksets
with 36/50 tooth chainring doubles, or 35/42/53 triples,
with all of the rings bolted together with a long set of
bolts. They took at 109-111mm BB spindle for the double.

These were gone by around 1990. Replaced by triple cranksets
such as the Racing-T and the Athena triple.

The Victory crankset was a very nice setup actually - ahead
of its time.
