What is a Monostay frame? - Newbie question.

The seat stay tubes join a large tube that's then attached to the main triangle. It's also known as
a "wishbone" though it looks like a front fork welded to the wrong end of the bike.

IMO, the rack mounting always looked weird on a monostay. My bike's brake bridge is tapped on the
underside for mounting a fender.
