So, anyone who has read one of my other first few posts will know that I am new to serious cycling for fitness... if not then let me update you.
I dusted off my old mtb from the shed and started riding 10 miles a day 3 or 4 times a week and more on weekends... It is quickly becoming addicting as I want to ride everyday. I am building up myself right now so that I can ride longer and more often....
Anyway I dont have any fancy equipment or clothing... yet..... but here is what I wear....
I bought some cheap sweat shorts from the local wally world and basiclly wear them with a t-shirt and regular sneakers and of course sunglasses... so seeing me on the road you probably would think I am just riding somewhere if you didnt notice that I was pedaling hard and concentrating on my ride....
so I was wondering what do you guys wear... regular clothes? I dont really like the tight shorts and shirt... I like looser fitting stuff but that adds drag and reduces the aerodynamics... although I dont care much about that yet.
When I got my first road bike last year I wore a sleeveless shirt and basketball shorts, that worked well enough. It's all about what you're comfortable with. That said, there are some serious benefits of cycling clothing, namely aerodynamics and nifty pockets. Try not to be too self-conscious about it.
Wore jersey and bib-nicks for the first time for yesterday's training ride. Felt fantastic. When I ride to work n back, I wear cargo pants and normal longsleeve shirts n jumpers. Proper riding gear feels like ya riding nude... and for me, that's a sexy sight.
It'll be 1-2 months before I lose enough of my [censored] to wear riding gear alone...
I always wear cycling shorts,i prefere the longer leg that sits just above the knee, when i started out i tried regular short, but after trying cycling sorts the benfits were obvious ,padding, less resistance to movment ,less chance of chaffing. If i was commuting i'd get Mtb shorts.
