    About 6 weeks ago I bought a used MB. I looked all over for a used road bike and had no luck on a decent one.

    I wanted to get a bike at a reasonable price to make sure my knee and back could take riding again. I have some major back problems and a total knee replacement. Good news is I am doing great and as long as I ice down my knee after I ride, no problems.

    I was out grilling this evening and I started looking over the bike and was wondering what it might be worth. I bought it at a pawn shop so I am sure they made a profit (probably a lot) over what they gave some person in a bind for cash.

    It is a Pacific YX 5500
    7005 Alum Frame in a Brushed finish
    Shimano Acera Components, incl. Brakes, shifters, etc.
    Zoom Stem
    Zenith Seat post (Alum)

    The only markings on the rims I can find are stickers on each one with the initials G.F. on it.
    It has 750lbs shock on it that is adjustable, I think, havn't messed with it.

    It has a few scratches on the front forks, but other than that is is in great shape.

    I realize this could be a Target or Wal-mart special or it could be a better bike than I think.

    Any idea's on what it is worth ????

    I am not looking to sell it, my son is going to ride it when I get my new bike as he thinks it looks "cool".

    That is definately a wallmart bike. A used one is probably worth 50-100 dollars if it is in perfect condition. Sorry if you paid more then that 🙁 FYI a bike that is trail worthy, that won't brake the first time you ride it usually costs about 500 dollars. A local bike shop can give you the best advice on what to buy.

    I forgot to tell you and others I gave $45.00 for it at the pawn shop. Well worth it as it has got me back on a bike.

    I don't do any off-road riding any more as I don't think my body can handle it. I used to ride BMX, but then switched over to road racing. That is my passion, although I do miss getting muddy sometimes😄

    I plan on purchasing a new road bike soon. The original plan was to buy one in Feb. and be ready for the season nextyear, but I have found a bike at the LBS that is marked way down due to it being a few years old, but still brand new. So I may get an early Christmas present......😉

    Yeah prob a wal-mart bike but worth at LEAST $100 with low line shimano parts like that...hold on to it for your son.

    OK here's one -

    Red 1988 Cannondale Criterium
    54 cm frame
    complete Shimano 105 group (12 speed Biopace)
    All original except seat and tires

    Looks as good as new with over 1000 miles on it.

    Still riding it today.
