I am now a confirmed 'bent head. After much reading and advice seeking, I took my day off yesterday rented a car and drove (I no longer like riding in an MV) 100 miles to the next nearest bent shop to test a couple more models, the Burley Canto and the Sun EZ-Speedster. The Speedster was too big, couldn't even reach the pedal at it's furthest point from the seat which was adjusted all the way forward. And the Cantos' steering 'felt' funny to me. So then I test rode the EZ-1 and EZ-Sport again. I bought the EZ-1. It is the regular steel version. But it felt the most natural to me. So for all that offered advice, thank you. For those that recommended Sun thanks, for those that recommended other thank you too, I made a choice based on all the advise, and then on what felt right to me.

Congratulations Ken. I bought my first bent in 1999 and still ride it regularly. I will caution you about one thing. And don't bother fighting it. You WILL ultimately own more than one bent. There are just two many types and styles to own just one!

LOL! I've already been looking at other makes myself! Though the HP SMGTe's comfort factors just can't be beat, it seems: adjustable seat and a unique kind of full-suspension. I'm surprised they haven't released a titanium version yet!

Hi Ken. Congratulations, and welcome aboard!
The EZ-Sport was the first recumbent I test rode, I really liked the position and comfort of that model. Plus I just like the 'retro' look of the curved frame. To me it didn't seem like much better at travel per effort than the old Varsity, especially when compared to the Tour Easy or Burley SWB (with a higher bottom braket) Both of these bikes seemed to require noticably less effort to get up a head of steam than the Varsity I was accustomed to riding.
I didn't test the EZ-1, but I'm glad you got yourself one!
