  1. So, I started Atkins Monday and so far so...... ok.

I find that after almost three days, I still get cravings for sweets
and I still haven't gotten to the point where my appetite diminishes.
I know my downfall in the past has been eating like I'm in OWL, or even
maintenance while I'm on induction. I vowed this time not to do
that... to stick to Induction if it kills me. Well, today, I found
myself slipping a little. I had some sour cream (2 measured
tablespoons) with a bit of Splenda, and I'm about to have two cream
    cheese truffles (http://tinyurl.com/7xh76). I know I shouldn't have
that until after induction, but I can't seem to help myself.

Having said that, the recent smoking thread made me remember the
willpower I had when I quit smoking 2 1/2 years ago. I think I'm going
to try to muster some of that up again. Maybe I'll even throw those
truffles out (I'm cringing just thinking about it.) Yes... I can do
    it!

Thanks for listening to me vent!

It took me over a week before I got over the I'm-gonna-die sugar
cravings, and I wasn't even that much of a sweets junkie to begin
with. It's definitely too early to give up or assume the cravings will
    never go away.

After posting here about my intense nighttime cravings during the
first 8 days or so, I took some advice and ordered some l-glutamine
from netrition and found that 2-5 gms really did help.

  3. If the cravings stick around for more than a few more days, I might
    just try that
