  1. Hey, how come runners get to have all the fun?

Anyone know of a similar group, only for weightlifters?

I've even tried soliciting on Craig's List, of all places, but no luck
    so far!

Are weightlifters rather like bicyclists and tend to be solitary?

I don't mean the teens who hit the gym once in a while before going to
the club or something. Most lifters at my gym seem like they're on
their own. For some reason, people's schedules and levels of strength
and commitment never seem to match up.

Runner's groups seem like they're everywhere in town, but I can't
believe we don't have a weightlifting circle here in NYC!

I suppose it all has to do with being tied down to equipment
available, which means membership at a particular gym, whereas running
    can take place anywhere.
