  1. Off up to the Lakes next week for some walking, my first time up that way.
Would like to get some good weather info before I get there, then in the
morning before I set off. anyone have any preferences ? I'm probably
looking at online info before I go, then a telephone number for the morning
    I set off.

    Thanks

    Alan

Check the Mountain Weather Information Service - http://www.mwis.org.uk

Their Cumbrian Fells forecast is at http://www.mwis.org.uk/mountain/LD.PDF

Forecasts are usually updated late afternoon 3 thru 5-ish so there's not
much point checking again in the morning.

  3. Excellent :-)

    Thanks gents

  4. Most impressed with mwis. Just dropped a friend off in Fort Bill for
the guided walk to Cape Wrath. Looking at the fresh snow on the hills
around Glencoe on the road up, he made an urgent and unscheduled visit
to Blacks to add more thermal undies to his kit!
