Wax lubes

Halfords Chain Wax* aerosol gets the lube into the chain innards. It is
softer than good bicycle-specific wax products but it's much cheaper and
is OK after wiping off the excess.

* In the motorcycle section, for both o-ring and non o-ring chain.

Candle, saucepan, add some teflon lube.

I used that stuff till it ran out and I couldn't remember where I bought
it and I thought it was quite good.
