Walking on the Dordogne

Phil, I've often wanted to walk in the Dordogne but have
never got around to
it. Like most of France, the area is cris-crossed with
paths, some local and some long distance. The Lonely
Planet Walking in France does feature some SW walks -
around Sarlat and then around the Lot valley - you
could put these together by using local train services
creatively.

I don't know of a guide to walking in the Dordogne. I think
your best best would be to contact (or go) to Stanfords the
Map People (Long Acre Covent Garden -
stanfords.co.ukstanfords.co.ukOpen ↗) and find a good scale map
(1:2500 or even 1:5000) of the area you're going to - you'll
find the footpaths are indicates clearly).
