Out here in the sticks the sale starts on May 7. Any feedback on the
walking boots - they look good value at £17.99!

I bought a pair of fabric boots from either ALDI or LiDL but they didn't
feel right, and were nearly as heavy as my leather Fell-Lites.
However, I did get a pair at "4.99 which have been fantastic value.
They are comfortable enough for me to drive a few miles for an exercise
walk in them and save changing.

I bought the £15 binoculars (10 x 50) from LiDL this morning and I'm
well impressed at the price. The definition is excellent, and they
have an obvious advantage over my Nikon Travelites (9 x 25) for quickly
acquiring the object to be viewed, and for better illumination.

They are heavy at 870g compared with the Travelites 270g, but definitely
superior for bird watching if they don't have to be carried all day, or
very far. They have a tripod screw at the front of the frame, but my
tripod could not manage a proper adjustment above horizontal.

One snag for me personally is that the eye separation adjustment only
just comes down to my size. I must have those close-set eyes of the
criminal fraternity, which means I missed my calling in life. ;-)
