  1. Is there a good website that posts community walk/jog a-
thons? Also, is there a better time of day to walk - after
    eating compared to calories burned?

  2. Whereabouts are you?

If you live in any metro area, there are probably local
running clubs or web sites that can give you good leads, or
at least local contacts. Also look in the newspaper for
races & charity walk/run events -- often found in the
"weekend activities" section. This time of year there starts
to be one or more events just about any week you chose. Many
schools, hospitals, health-related orgs, & suchlike have
events; they cost about $20-30 to enter, they're fun, & you
get a nice t-shirt for a souvenir. bj
