travelling from Strasbourg on our motorbikes to watch Stage 13 of the tour. Never been to tour before but would like to see some climbs.

Does anyone know what time the roads would close to the public or what time I would have to be on the stage to watch it ?

cheers

Hi there

You can view an approx time schedule over here:

Tour de France 2009 - Stage by stage

regards

Roads are closing 3 hours before the caravane.

I suppose you want to go on the Platzerweasel col so you have to reach Munster before 10H00, better to be at 9H00 or later to find a good place, there is a 1O-11% section that could surprise some rider.

For your information, local people are saying that there is a lot of people on Col of Platzerwaezel already. So probably you could easily park your moto at Schnepfenried near the top and then go by feet.

.

But when they are closed, is it still possible to climb with bike to the top of the climb?

Yes, you can until the caravane arrives and after. Sometimes, when it's too much crowed gendarmes tell you to walk for safety.
