    Go to PubMed at:

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?CMD=Limits&DB=PubMed

and enter the following text in the search box and click on GO.

    cam [sb]

    You will get 339,805 hits.

All of these 339,805 hits have been classified as 'Complementary &
Alternative Medicine' (cam) health research by the powers that
    be at PubMed.

The medical community will typically make the following *false* claim
    about alternative medicine.

"Before a physician can prescribe a drug to a patient, that drug must
    be
    http://www.theness.com/articles/alternativemedicine-cs0101.html
proven, through many years of stringent research, to be safe and
effective for specific indications. ... Alternative medicine operates
completely outside of this system. They can make claims without the
burden of scientific proof and prescribe therapies without any
    precautions for their safety."

The actual facts are that there are at least 339,805 'Complementary &
& Alternative Medicine' research studies in existence that support the
health claims made by Alternative Medicine.

Who says so? PubMed says so!

That is too amazing a claim to let pass, John.

None of these 339,805 trials gave negative results? None related to in
vitro or animal studies which are very frequently in medical science not
replicable in whole human beings? None were epidemiological studies
wherein correlation very frequently does not reflect causation? None were
about methods which are actually on the fringe of mainstream such as spinal
manipulation, massage, relaxation techniques? None were included as CAM
simply because they relate to effects of herbs or other supplements which
have never been part of an alternative medical claim?

More precisely, which of the dozens or hundreds of health claims made by
Alternative Medicine (your caps) in recent years do these studies support?..
For which important illnesses have these studies established 'alternative'
    cures or preventatives?

    Thankyou. But it needs work.
