More precisely, a diet rich in vitamin C seems to help
reduce strokes by 30% in this study, but the study does not
establish whether it is the vitamin C doing this or some
other feature of a diet rich in certain fruits and
vegetables, or of those who tend to consume such a diet. I
am quite prepared to believe it is the vitamin C, but to be
on the safe side I eat fruits and vegetables (rather than
rely on a pill source), and also ride my bicycle regularly.

Gee, these have been medical recommendations for as long as
I can remember! I suppose EOM is in league with farmers and
    the exercise goods industry.

Yup this is true, but there are other studies that give a
good argument for the c. If you get it in its natural form
you are also getting cancer busters, natural sterols and
other valuable chemicals that the body needs. (I still take
about 1-4g of powdered ascorbic acid with a juice as well as
    getting my veggies)

People should follow this advice as a preventitive and not
wait until a big event hits them before taking action. (An
apple a day keeps the doctor away makes a lot of sense)

  5. Funny thing about science - it tries to re-invent the wheel,
to take apart nature, put it back together and then realise
that nature had it right in the first place!.. Anth
