I still have the original rear wheel that came on my 98 R40 Dual susp which I no longer have. The
wheel was upgraded early to a higher end wheel [R44 I think]. I was thinking about using the free
hub on my home built as a jack shaft. I took off the cluster and noticed the leading spokes looked
funny.Looked closer and it looks like whoever built the wheel used a ball pean hammer to flatten out
the leading spokes right at the hub flange [elbow of the spokes]Since the wheel had less than 20 to
30 miles on it I shudder at the thought of wheel failure if I had kept the bike and original wheel.
Don't know if this is an isolated incidence but thought I would pass this along to Vision Owners
