  1. Has anyone ridden or owned a Vision R-40 in both swb and mwb versions with no suspension components?
If so, can you compare them with regard to stability? Also how does the mwb Vision compare to any
lwb bents you might have ridden or owned?

    Thanks, Fred

  2. Fred, the R40 was the bike that brought me to recumbents. The first bike I rode was a 97 R40 LWB.
For $1300 I think the R40 MWB is an outstanding buy. The only other lwb uss bike I can think of is
the Longbikes Slipstream at $2500. For that price you could by both the swb and mwb R40. If you are
open to considering above seat steering, then I would consider the RANS Stratus and Easy Racers Tour
Easy. I am biased. I bought a 99 Stratus. At $1600 I still think it is an outstanding value. I have
about 18000 miles on my bike. I think it's a better built bike than the R40. That's what moved me to
the Stratus. If you are open to a swb format, consider looking at a Haluzak Horizon $1800?. I prefer
Haluzak's linkage steering to Visions direct method.
