It's true dude, aren't you paying attention. They got all those nasty baddies and only the pure good guy riders get to race. 🙄

I wouldn't mind so much but it's the SAME commercials, over and over and over again. I don't care how many times they tell me that SAAB was born from jets...I'm not buying one!
This is generally true if you watch a fair amount of TV - the same commercials repeat after a while (ok, not as bad as what you mentioned above). Anyway, the "mute" button on the remote is an excellent feature. 😉

What about the footage in reverse? Where they show the yellow jersey coming OFF Floyd Landis...is that supposed to mean something??

If only it worked on family members...🙄 and dogs..

Yeah, I don't think it can be coincidence. Kinda freaky!

Actually, they show Zabel stepping off the podium (done in reverse) Floyd having the jersey taken off (done in reversea) and then Vino backing up the ramp (done in reverse), then something about a "new stage." I think that they are making a point that the Tour gets a "do over." As far as the "Take Back the Tour" motiff, they do not seem to be emphasizing it. I think maybe they got some negative feedback about it. I know I wrote them an email filled with sentiments about what stupid [censored] they were with the sentence about "false allegations." My biggest problem is the Bruyneel thing. Screw them.
It is interesting that they still hire Frankie to do interviews. I would have thought he would be black balled because he came clean, and Betsy keeps pushing for the truth about Lance to be widely published. Betsy rules!

It is a rare occasion that I watch something without at least a 15 minute delay so that I can cut out commercials with the dvr. Thank you to whomever invented that technology.
My IQ drops 30 points everytime I watch versus. And for me that is huge.

Yeah...if you watch it twice... you'll have no IQ left.

Do you think they waited to edit in the Landis shot 'til the CAS decision came down?
You know what really sucks?? Robbie Ventura's "commentating". I have to turn the sound way down when he comes on as his hyperbole concerning just about anything and everything is nauseating...The guy in the booth with Bobke is almost as stomach churning...
Versus is as good as it gets! In the USA you cannot view on ESPN or any other networks cause they don't carry it. I am very much thankful for Versus and the coverage they provide even with the commercials. They must make money on the endeavor or they will not carry it next year. You can gripe all you want but at least we have coverage of every stage. It was not to many years ago we only got a recap of the last stage and who won. Thank you versus!!!!

Well, that is a good point . . .
Don't forget the years that OLN broadcast the Tour every day except Sundays. I'm grateful just to see the ride into Paris!

They didn't show it on Sunday because whichever major network they're affiliated preempts their coverage and replaces it with a glorified one hour Tour de France travelogue, complete with highlights of the prior week, but mostly it seemed to be about France's countryside and culture. For those who just want to see the bike race, I'm sure it's torturous.

Agreed. That segment in the Garmin car while Millar was riding was frustrating. Milar's got three kms to go... and Ace Ventura is monologuing [censored] while Vaughters waits for him to finish talking. I could imagine Millar listening on race radio going "Shut the fark up!".
Not that there is a high degree of strategy in the conversation in any case at that stage of a chrono. But listening to Ventura would have made me go slower.
Post edit - Sorry.. Millar's English... he'd probably say.... "Please be quiet!"

I have not watched TV without my Tivo for about 7 years now. I noticed I use the fast forward button with Versus more than other channels. I'd not watch it without my Tivo, just too many ads and other nonesense in between.

I have to reply to this stupid post.
Garmin-Chipotle (sponsors especially) are loving all the media attention. You've revealed your naivete postpumper.

Nah, he would have gotten off his bike and thrown it at the idiot 😄 .
Haven't been able to watch any tour de france stages yet, been at work all day whilst it's on but this weekend I'll be rummaging around the murky depths of the internet for live streaming. Hopefully there will be something decent out there.
