  1. I rarely post to MHD, and when I do I use a different UserID, so please bear with me. This is not
    SPAM promoting some product.

I just joined a group on Venous Leakage that is quite small and at present is quite inactive. Since
many of us diabetics, particularly type 1's suffer from venous leakage, I'm hoping to get others to
join this group so we can share and learn from each others' experience. Maybe we can attract some
additional members that could contribute to all of our well-being.

Since this is a topic of interest to a small portion of those on MHD, I believe it would be best
dealt with through a smaller, more private group, so I invite you to join in on the discussion
    described above at <http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/venousleaks/>

But, if you feel it is a topic for discussion here on MHD, I'd welcome your comments.

    Some background on me:

I am a 59 years old and have been a type 1 diabetic for the past 55 years. I have erectile
dysfunction caused largely by venous leakage. This is due, largely, to wildly fluctuating blood
glucose levels in my early years, before home blood glucose monitors became available (about 25
years ago). I am told high blood glucose manifests itself as venous leakage in either or both of two
ways; (1) blood glucose sediment accumulates on the venous valves, making it impossible for them to
close tightly enough to maintain an erection, or (2) autonomic neuropathy causes a weak signal to be
communicated to the valves, causing an incomplete closure.

erection, but to maintain it I have to use some form of a constriction band (cockring). I sometimes
apply the band from a vacuum pump, which I use to improve penile blood circulation as a means of
generating nocturnal erections (important for penile health, I'm told). So far, I've not found a
cockring that I'm very happy with, and it was for this reason I joined the above group.

Hopefully one or more of you can share your experiences with the various brands and/or other means
you've used to make venous leakage less of a problem.

    Lee
