I am wanting to build a pair of wheels with Velocity Deep V rims, 700C, 32H, in Bright Silver. I am told the Bright Silver is an anodized coating. Can anyone tell me if these rims are available with machined sidewalls, and if not, is the braking adversely affected?

V's come with or without for most of the common drillings and colors.

But not for bright dip ano finishes. Bright silver is only without machined sidewalls. Braking won't be any worse than any rim from the old days before machining sidewalls became common. The "bright" finish scuffs quickly and eventually wears through to bare aluminum. In the meantime, braking is more than adequate.

I'd been led to believe that they were all powder coated, even the silver ones. I'd go for poo brown then. :-P
