I saw a Veloce BB today that had significant play after only 1200km. I don't have the tool to service (but I may get one), yet there seems to be no way to adjust or service--it seemed to be installed tightly. I referred it back to the shop that sold the bike as a probable warranty item.
It seems that either the BB shell is slightly too long or the BB is defective.

Any other possibilty I am missing?
Hi,
There is nothing to adjust on these, unfortunately. Ride it and chuck it when it gives out. Not a problem considering that they cost under USD 20.
But get the right extractor and check to make sure that both sides are screwed in properly, before replacing.
My Veloce BB (AC-S) started getting play a month ago. I took it back and replaced it with an AC-H (hollow axle BB, often used on Centaur cranks and rings) of same size (111 mm for double). Works fine.
