  1. - VDB had appealed against 200h. community service, now gets a 250000
euro fine "proportional to his cycling earnings and the amount of
products he possessed". The fine is "rather mild, as they take in
    account his improvement since then"
-> This will come down hard. His villa was built anticipating more fat
    years..

    - The court went against the community service because it would be
ineffective for VDB: the personality tests showed him narcistic and with
huge psychological problems, resulting in a lacking sense of reality,
and a problem with rules and auhtority.

    - the court states he should be sanctioned as a drugs user, not as a
doper: in the period the products were found he wasn't really active,
and moreover certain products are in no way doping-related
-> Pretty hard for VDB who got a doping suspension for this case from
    the sports authorities.

That's the best. He would even screw up community service...

I am not sure that letting him service the community would be in the
    communities best interest.

  4. Speaking of which, I have met two people this year whose dogs were
treated with EPO (in France), so VDB's excuse doesn't seem so stupid
    after all.
