Upgraded my V2 with some of the new goodies that RANS sells. Here is my experience. Your's may vary.
Seat fabric; nice looking, straps allow you to tune tension and work well. Wallet pocket in top
prevents real use of inner seat for spare tires and hydration bladder. I cut mine out for access.
Seat pad; The new seat pan requires the use of the Rad-Lok seat clamp, and I use an older X-Eyed V2
under seat pannier rack that requires the original seat clamp system, so I have not upgraded the
seat pan. The new seat pad has fabric bonded onto about 3/4 inch of contoured urethane (sp?) foam.
Doesen't seem like it would work like the fat foam pad, but it is good, and does not absorb water.
Riser and bar; I bought the longest extension riser, wondered what the other two would have been
like, and then made it adjustable by cutting the extension in half and sliding in my shortened
top-loader stem. Its heavier, but I can have short-to-long to play with. I'm using the wide
double-bend bars. At first I did not like this new bar system. With the old system, I could swing
the tiller left to right with my feet in the 11:00/5:00 o'clock position without hitting my knees.
but at very low speed I did wobble a lot going up hills. With the new bars, I have to keep my knees
together, and drop a knee on most any real turn, but I can now track very straight at very slow
speeds. I have re-attached the fairing as I had it before, with bar-ends instead of the RANS
hardware. This time, however, they go inside of the brake mounts, as the bar is much wider.
All in all, a nice improvement.
