  1. I'm looking for a used tri bike that is less than $800, does anybody have any recommendations?

All depends on what your looking for and what you mean by a tri bike. Do you mean a tri/TT
geomtry or just a bike to use in a triathlon? Although mine is not a great bike by anymeans
and It's not a tri specific bike it has gotten me through several tri's and best of all I
like it, and it was cheap. I got is used, after adding pedals and aerobars I'm well below
800$. I got mine on E-bay on a fluke. As far as type of bike go to your local bike shop and
tell them what range your looking in. See how you fit on them. and go from there. Many
manufactures are comming out with low end versions of bikes. 1200-1500 new. I suspect you
could probably pick up one of those used close to your range.

    listings.ebay.comindex.html

email the sellers to confirm the product (ask detailed questions etc), as there have been a number
    of scams running on there.

I got very lucky in 1997. I bought a Cannondale R300 new for $500 (last year's models are always on
sale). Since then I've slowly changed cranks, sprockets, derailers, breaks, handlebars/aerobars and
stem. Every year I overhaul the bike and I fall in love with it again.

Is it fast? I've never lost because of the bike - Oh sure I get blown away - but that's because of
    the [censored] engine.
