It is concluded that heart rate rather than power output should be used to monitor training load in cyclists exercising in environmental conditions predisposing to dehydration. Furthermore, in the latter condition, adequate rehydration is essential to preserve optimal mechanical efficiency

    😄 😄 Bahh, I am just kidding guys. :o :p

Here is the abstract about the impact of exercice-induced dehydration on both power output, and hr.

What's surprising about it, is that they found no difference between both groups in HR at OBLA

  2. I agree. Power is vastly overrated, along with food, water, sex and money -- all vastly overrated.😄

  3. I have just noticed that one of the authors of this study is a Vanden Heyne. I wander if is a relative to Eric Vanden Heyne, our actual head coach of Canadian National Cycling Team 🙄

I did my level 2 with him. "Old school" but passionate.

  4. Sounds a bit like our man on the W. Coast, Houshang Amiri.
