Hi,
Â
Firstly, please forgive my bicycle ignorance.
Â
I am currently riding a Giant OCR 3 (2008) which has a Shimano 2200 Crankset on it. I am looking to upgrade to an Ultegra 6700 Groupset. The current front derailleur on the bike is a brased derailleur (which I assume means it has a bracket mount that screws to the bike). I'm just wondering if I get a brased Ultegra 6700 front derailleur and change the crankset if it will fit correctly. The new big chain ring will be exactly the same size as the old one.
I have read of people having trouble with such things in the past.
Â
Has anyone had any experience with this? Any other problems (other than telling me to buy a better bike) that I might face if I upgrade the components?
Â
Thanks.

Hi Purpletank, I don't think the 2200 sti lever is compatible with a 6700 FD, it might be compatible with a 6600 FD.
Â
If it's compatible, and assuming your 2200 is a double, you shouldn't need to change you crankset (unless you need to)
