Here's the menu I'm making for Thanksgiving this year. To some people, every
single item on the menu could be considered "new and unusual."

Chestnut-Arugula Soup

Hot Melon Salad

Butternut Squash Chunks with Sweet Curry

Green Beans with Hazelnuts, Butter, and Lemon

Roast Goose with Blackberry Sauce

Yorkshire Pudding with Mushrooms and Dried Cherries

Parsnip-potato puree

Spicy Pumpkin Pie (Contains habañeros! Beware!)

Butter Pecan Ice Cream (I follow the Ben & Jerry's recipe. Maple syrup will
be available for drizzling on the pie and/or the ice cream, and there will

Of course, whipped cream. Don't forget to drop a large dollop into
your black after dinner coffee as is done in Vienna. Mit Schlag....

I always loved the little disk of chocolate that came with my kaffee mit
