Universal joint for steering?

  1. ....I will probably buy a long wheel base delta, and change the rear cassette to an 11/ 34 to get up hills with a trailer.

    but I don't like the under seat steering nor the handle bars sticking up in my face. Has any one tried converting one to a steering wheel using a universal joint from a ratchet wrench?

    I thought of a problem it may have, being off center on the head set, unless I invent a way of attaching it to the center above the bolt.

    I tried that on a LWB frame. Don't bother. Standard toolbox universal joints
    (3/8"😉 have way too much slop. Imagine a 2 or 3" movement at the handlebars before the fork moves.
