  1. What do you think are the pros & cons of these two books and which one <if any> do you adhere to?

I find the 'advanced' regime in the 'performance program' to be too restrictive & light weight. I like the 'Ultimate Ride' but could use a little more clarity, he lays everything out but you have to put it all together (or hire one of his coaches).

  2. Yea the performance program is light, i got tired of trying to put together a train schedule so i hired a coach, best thing i ever did for my training. in fact the money i spent on books would have gotin me 1 month of coaching, now the books are useless.

Did you hire an online coach or a hands on coach? if hands on may I ask how much it is. I am considering one or the other for next season? Nick

The coach is local in my home town, how ever the coaching is via email and phone.the reason i went local was because i went to him for an AT test first so he could establish my fitness level. depending on what your level is and where you wanna go prices can range from $75.00 - $175 per month most want an 12 week minimum upfront.

I've read the Ultimate Ride and really found it very straight forward as far as putting it all together. The book tells you how to put it all together and what you need to do to build up your training and how you should train. I thought it all made alot of sense. If you'd rather use one of his trainers, they start at like $35-40 a month for a basic online program.
