  1. I just bought a 2004 Cervelo P2K yesterday. The guy at the LBS told me it was normally $2199...but he said he'd give if to me for $1700 loaded with the Shimano 105 shifters (as opposed to the Ultegra that it is normally loaded with).
My question is...is the Ultegra that much better than the 105....or did he give me a pretty damn good deal?

  2. Just 105 shifters (STI I assume), or the whole 105 group??

$500 off either way is a great deal.

You can go onto EBay and get Dura-Ace 9-speed derailleurs brand new, Ultegra STI shifters, and sell the 105 stuff and only have to spend a little extra to cover the difference.

All the 9-speed Shimano stuff is compatable. And there is not much of a performance difference between 105 and Ultegra.

    You can always upgrade later.

  3. I've been riding 105 on my Bianchi for some time now and - while I have nothing to compare it to - it's been rock solid and accurate.
