  1. I am trying to find all of the velodromes in the uk...

    are there any disused ones.

I would like to take pictures of them.
    Thanks

  2. I don't think this one has been built over yet!

It's in Bristol, in an area called Whitchurch (more precisely Hengrove) in the South of the City. It's at the end of a cul-de-sac called Oakdale Road, which is off Cadogan Raod, off Airport Road - this is the A4174.

You can just about see it on www.multimap.co.uk.
Search for Bristol. zoom in to find Whitchurch, look for the junction of the A37 & A4174, go left, zoom in as far as you can and then follow the A4174 along until you see Cadogan Road on the left.

If you switch the map to 'aerial view' you can just make out the oval track at the end of the houses!

I think multimap is reasonably up to date, I'll check out if the track is still there when I go that way on Saturday.

You can actually see the track on www.multimap.co.uk.

Search for Bristol, zoom south to locate Whitchurch, maximum zoom into the junction of the A37 & A4174, go left along the A4174 to find Cadogan Road & the into Oakdale Road.

Switch the map to 'aerial view' and you can just make out the oval track at the end of the road.

I will go by this area over the weekend and check to see if it is definitely still there, I know houses have been built nearby (on the small green patch to the left of the track), but I'm reasonably confident the track remains........

  4. thanks very much ... scanning multi map now.
Building site... the horror. This one I never known
    cheers
