  1. Hi,

I am thinking of doing the entire british coast next summer, excluding NI.
has anyone here done this?, or got routes etc?

I am 57, looking at about 50-60 miles a day, and also interested in company
    if anyone else fancies it.

planning to start beginning of May. I think it's about 3500 miles? so about
3 months with a few rest days?

my email is richemailATpipex.com if u want to discuss, (change the AT) or
    repost here of course.

    Will be on a hybrid.

    richard.

You could try the same route as these chaps are doing

Although your bike won't be as tall.

I was a member of a team which did it inna-relay-stylee in 1983, but as
we were out to establish a record, we didn't spend much time looking at
    the scenery :-)

Was browsing in a bookshop today where I saw a book by Josie Dew doing this.
Blurb quoted a much higher mileage, 5000 I think.

Slow Coast Home. And she didn't do the entire British Coast, just
England and Wales. ISTR a few detours that would have upped the
mileage, but not by 1500 miles:

Like all of Josie Dew's books, it's well worth reading. Probably even
more so for someone planning a ride round the British Coast.
