  1. Having now usurped awesome powers tantamount to life or death for many squads, a bunch of
superannuated bureaucrats at the UCI sit back smugly like ravening vultures wondering how much they
can pad their already bloated expense accounts and travel allowances and pissing on the peons from
    their eyrie in Tell-Land.

But an increasing number of fans and riders at all levels have come to believe that the UCI is an
institution which no longer has the wellbeing of of cycling as its main objective and that it should
be replaced with a more democratic organization.

Unfortunately, they are playing directly into the hands of people like control-freak and Super-
[censored], [censored] Pound, who is sure to be making (rude and disruptive) noises since this is an Olympic
Year and he figures he can get the IOC, UCI and SdTdF with one magic Warren Commission type bullet
and end up with all the marbles.

He just might do it too unless somebody steps up and stops him and if he ever does there is a
distinct possibility that by comparison Parmalat will appear of no more significance than the office
girl filching a couple of stamps to send out here Valentine Day cards
