"Bottles! We need bottles." Is what I told Linda on the drive back to
Winnipeg. The old ones were starting to leak at the neck.
The first bottle we got from "City Bike Shop" in Traverse City Michigan.
They actually were closed, but forgot to lock the door. So they stayed
open so that this "foreigner" could browse around. Very cool.
The second bottle came from "Latitude 45" in Gaylord. Again, another
nice shop, with helpful staff. They even clued us in on a couple of
local rides. Alas, as we were just passing through we only had time for
a quick browse.
The third bottle was obtained at "LakeShore Bike" in Marquette. I knew
I'd found a good shop when I opened the door and heard the music
playing. These were the folks that told Linda and I that we'd started
out on the most challenging part of Bruno's Run! Go figure. Anyway, they
gave us the low-down on local stuff, and a couple of neat pieces of
reading material.
The only other related, sorta, stuff that I bought were some $0.96 Clif
Bars, and some $0.84 Luna Bars in flavours that Linda hadn't tried
before. Oh yeah, I also paid $1.49 for an "Accel Gel", and some similar
price for a GNC "EnerGel". I know, I'm a slave to marketing hype, but we
don't get a lot of this stuff in our neck of the woods.
