The recommended range should be printed on the tires. Harder will give
a harder ride, but less friction. Softer will give a softer ride, but
more friction, or riding resistance.--

brand/model tire, where you intend on riding your bike
(surface/conditions), how much you weigh, what bike they are on, etc.
Your question was not complete enough for anyone to honestly answer.
On the ride I took today, I let air out of my tires for a particular
section of trail and then pumped some air back in for another.JD.
