  1. Ok, I had heard about nuts and diabetes. I do not have access to the full Nature Publishing Group
    article but here is one of the conclusions of the study--

    "Among subjects with type 1 diabetes, diabetes medication reductions were sustained or further
    reduced in a greater proportion of almond-LCD as compared to CHO-LCD subjects (96 vs 50%,
    respectively)."

    In general, this was testing two low calorie diets-- one with almonds, one without, in obesity.

    But this is a HUGE difference. If anyone has access to the full article I would love to know
    more detail.
