What are the benefits of twisted spokes. Ive got hold of a front wheel with what looks like a track hub of unknown origin. Its a clincher rim with a strange double twisted spoke pattern.

There aren't any. They are hard to build and aren't as strong or stiff as normal builds, either crossed or radial. Its purely decoration.
